In a small seminary the graduate students were required to participate in a "most original sermon" contest. One of the young ministers simply stood in front of the assembly with four small packages of Play Doh. Quietly he began to shape several objects in his hands: the stick figure of a man, an animal, a house, and finally a round sphere in which he carved lines to equal the continents of the earth. He then took the figure of the man and set it gently on the platform hear his feet. Next he placed the figure of the animal on the lectern microphone. The clay house was thrown violently into a nearby wastebasket, and lastly the student took the figure of the world, and using it as a ball, he rolled it across the stage and out of sight behind the curtains. Speaking softly into the microphone, he said, "Read the first 11 verses of Jeremiah 18." With these words, the young man walked off the stage.
He won first prize in the contest.
