Sometimes our terminology and choice of words can be sloppy and very inaccurate. A friend of mine recently related how one of his co-workers continually refers to members of a different Christian church as belonging to another religion. He has explained to him many times the people belonging to various Christian churches are of different denominations but should not be termed as members of different religions. However, he still continues to speak of those Christians in the neighborhood as belonging to other religions.
Raul loudly proclaims that Jesus is the head of the church. All Christian denominations are united and living under the lordship and direction of Jesus Christ. We all commonly acknowledge and profess, regardless of our denominations, that Jesus has made peace "through the blood of his cross."
These indeed are happy times, when we can pray to Our Father and sense the reality of a common religious family. The Christian church today offers unified praise and worship to Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior.
Although we have numerous divisions, many are of a minor nature. Our unity and strengths are much greater, for the most powerful binding force imaginable is Christ -- the Lord, the Savior, the King.
