"Ted" has become an obnoxious character around the law office in which he is a partner. "He has been trying to 'save' everyone!" according to Katie, the lead secretary. "There's nothing worse than a person who got religion yesterday and has all the answers today." What "Ted" has yet to learn is that an increase in faith does not make him better than others; rather an increase in faith makes him better than he once was.
And what "Ted" once was, was pretty awful! A regular abuser of drugs and alcohol, he lived fast and easy, supporting his lifestyle with regular income from a lucrative law practice. If there was a precipitating crisis which brought about his conversion it was not evident to others or himself. As "Ted" tells it he was simply bored watching television one evening, when the words of a media evangelist broke through to him.
In a revelatory moment he recognized the distortions of his behavior, accepted Christ as his Savior, and began living a new lifestyle. "Ted" still has some growing to do. The question remains, "How might he turn his enthusiasm for his salvation into deeds which glorify God?"
