Tell no man, Jesus said...

"Tell no man," Jesus said often. He knew the secret that what we keep secret controls us. If we keep good things, like mystical experiences, in our hearts, we will be controlled by good. If we keep evil things in our hearts, we will be controlled by evil.
The Christian church is the only organization on the face of the earth that encourages people to confess their sins and keep secret their good works. This flies in the face of the worldly man who will tell you how good he is and not let you see the evil in his heart, often denying it or rationalizing it away. Christians know the secret of the "transvaluation of values," taking the world's standard of behavior and turning it around 180 degrees. We seek forgiveness of sins personally each day and corporately each Sunday.
The secret came from Jesus. "Don't brag about what you have just seen," Jesus must have told Peter, James, and John as they descended from the mystical heights of transfiguration. Keep the secret inside, at least for a time, sc that like a seed it will grow.
