There once was a man...

There once was a man who was given the special gift of preaching by God. For many years this man used his gift faithfully witnessing to the Good News of Jesus the Christ.
In the course of time, he became very well known and this led to his becoming an internationally known television ministry personality. He was so successful that millions of people sent money to support the work he was doing.
Now, this man began to forget that it was God's gift that he was using. When he did think about it, which wasn't very often, he reasoned that God had given him the gift because he was so special. He began to think that God wanted him to have all the money he wanted from the funds that were sent. For after all, wasn't he closer to God because of his gift?
One day an auditor visited the preacher and his television ministry and this led to charges of mismanagement of funds. Soon people began to laugh at him saying, "You are not deserving, you are no better than us." You cannot claim to sit closer to God. Move down. You have placed yourself too high.
