There is power in wind...

There is power in wind. Stand outside and watch the wind as it gently rustles the leaves in the trees. Then stand outside on a calm day and try to shake the leaves as the wind did. You discover that even a gentle breeze is powerful.
Watch as powerful winds whip up dust into spiraling dust devils. Winds during hurricanes reach speeds of over 100 miles/hour. A drive through such a storm's aftermath gives evidence enough of the power of the wind. A prairie wind can pick up snow, causing whiteouts that can last for several days. Yet, who does not long for a cooling breeze on a hot humid summer day?
Pioneers harnessed wind power to produce power to drive their water pumps. Windmills used to be a common feature on every farm, though now they have mostly disappeared. But with the increasing alarm over our fossil fuel supply, new wind turbines and wind farms are beginning to crop up around the world. In fact, the European Wind Energy Association suggests that wind energy can provide at least 12 percent of the world's energy needs by 2020, even taking into consideration rising demands for power. The savings in carbon dioxide emissions is incalculable.
The power of the wind. The power of the Spirit.
