They'd wasted a million dollars. What did their future hold? Their remaining cash went to
a fortuneteller: "Would they be rich again?" they asked. They found the crystal ball
advice as worthless as septic tank fumes. About the same time, the couple began
attending church in Hollywood.
Did the story end happily? The last I knew it didn't look promising. They eventually ended their relationship with the Lord. His advice wasn't faulty. They stopped for reasons that many people do. Often people want the Lord's help. They just don't want to do what the Lord tells them what they must do in order to help themselves.
Numerous folks are praying for a great New Year. They want happiness and prosperity, but they see no connection between how they behave and their constant misery. For instance, some are already in deep-yogurt Christmas debt, and they'll start the New Year at a party where they'll drink too much and ogle their friends' spouses.
Here's how to vault to a better year. It takes scissors, a voice, and one good hand. Use the scissors on your credit cards. Don't cheat here. Destroy all of them. Practice saying, "No," to the second drink, or better yet to the first one (it's amazing how much fun sober people can have at parties). Finally, hold your spouse's hand and flirt with her/him on New Year's Eve. Have a happy one!
