At this time of year it helps to cut through the glitter of a secular Christmas celebration and to consider our response to what God has done for us. The biblical images of the season tell us so much of what God intended for us by taking on human form. Words cannot describe it. But the pictures say it all -- angels appearing to shepherds in the fields, celestial objects boasting a supernatural wonder, and a humble barn sheltering the great Savior of the world, to name only three. God's plan for us and his love for us are clearly revealed in terms we can relate to in the flesh. What more can we add to Paul's doxology of praise: "To him, the only God who is wise, be glory for ever, through Jesus Christ"?
