Illustration
In the tiny hamlet of Blantyre, Scotland, an uneducated laborer named David Hogg taught a boys Sunday school class week after week, year after year. His devotion was a wonder to all who knew him. Out ofthat class went ayoung man named David Livingstone. He went from Scotland across the vast continent of Africa giving his life in witness to his faith.
Many years later another missionary came to a village where Livingstone had once lived. As the missionary began to tell the stories from the life of Jesus an elderly woman interrupted him saying, "That man was here." So closely did David Livingstone's life resemble Jesus that she got the two confused.
From an uneducated laborer in a Scottish hamlet we get the footprints of Jesus all across Africa.
