Tommy had a pronounced speech...

Tommy had a pronounced speech impediment. But he wanted to sing. His family and friends told him to forget it. So Tommy did what he knew best: he kept quiet and prayed. He prayed because this desire was so deep within him it wouldn't let him rest. He dreamed about being a singer. He watched movies about singers. He listened to the songs in church, their lyrics and melodies lifting his spirit. He went to hear any singer who performed in the area. Tommy wanted to sing. But what would he do about his stuttering? What could he do about this thing that clouded his dream? Tommy buried it away in the depths of his soul. He stopped going to church, stopped watching those who could sing, and worked in silence. He was a successful computer analyst. His job did not require him to speak and Tommy's world was a quiet one. Until the day he walked by the cathedral. The music enthralled him and touched him as never before. Something made him go inside. The concert was almost over, but Tommy heard a woman singing with the voice of an angel. She hit the notes with confidence and the notes soared to the cathedral ceiling. His old longing to sing returned. He was entranced. Tommy settled in the pew, waiting for the woman to give her testimony. It would be rude to leave now, anyway. The singer walked up to the host. Her face clouded and she blushed. She began her story. "Hi, m-m-m-y n-n-n-ame is S-S-S-arah."
