Two movies have been made adapting Elleston Trevor's novel The Flight of the Phoenix. In a sandstorm an airplane crashes in the Sahara. The plane is not completely destroyed, but some passengers die.
After attempts to reach help, survivors are reduced in number and strength and water runs low. Finally, one of the passengers announces that he's an aeronautical engineer and that with the remainder of the plane and the supplies on board they can build a plane to escape. Everyone starts to work; but a turning point occurs when the pilot finds out that the aeronautical engineer designed model airplanes!
The shock: This is the man who was going to save us? So the shock of Good Friday: This man will save us, this one who's beaten and abused, a man "despised and rejected by others, a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity..."? Jesus, by an almost unheard of manner (and exactly the opposite of human expectations) was "the righteous one" and has "made many righteous."
