Up until this moment in...

Up until this moment in time Peter had believed that the kingdom of God was only for Jews. Now he saw how wrong and foolish this idea was. "I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him."
Then Peter began to do what was the natural thing for him to do, he talked about Jesus. He began to articulate what was in his soul. He finally let loose all of the acquired knowledge that only he was able to tell. He was able to do so because he was there. Peter had seen firsthand what we can only read about. Peter lived and worked and played with Jesus. Who better to tell his story?
It was just a simple, personal testimony, but the people who listened were spellbound. As Peter witnessed to these people, lives were changed. The Word of God had finally penetrated, it had taken hold of Peter, it was the "truth" for Peter's life and became the truth for countless others through his life. God did not play favorites with the Jews, and salvation was available to "anyone who fears him and does what is right ..." Peter did not imply that good intentions assure salvation, but that salvation was offered whether a person was a Jew or not.
God has a purpose for each of us, a work for each one to do, a place for each one to fill, an influence for each one to exert, a likeness to his dear Son for each one to manifest, and then, a place for each one to fill in his holy temple.
