Vision is a dangerous thing...

Vision is a dangerous thing. It can lead us to re-examine cradle-taught reality, to ask hard questions, to challenge accepted authority, and perhaps to suffer at its hands. Vision can lead us into new truths, and open the door to new life. If it is faulty, vision can also lead us to destruction.
News was recently made when a woman gave herself up to the police after almost 25 years of living a double life. In the late 60s, she had been part of a radical gang which had robbed a Boston bank to finance its political activities, killing a guard in the process. Eluding capture, she made a new life for herself in Oregon, with a new identity and a new family, and was to all appearances a model citizen. The strain of living a lie was ultimately too much for her. Her youthful vision, faulty as it was, destroyed her hopes for a happy life.
