Walking the streets of Seattle...

Walking the streets of Seattle, Michael carried a backpack with his possessions and wore the clothes on his back. Occasionally he got a day job and picked up some money for his needs.
John was coming out of a club one night when he ran into Michael on the streets. Michael approached him and asked for money for dinner. For some reason, John was drawn to Michael. He seemed friendly enough. There was a fast-food place across the street.
"Come on," John said. "Let's go over there and grab something to eat."
They went inside and ordered and then talked as Michael ate. Michael began to share bits and pieces of his story. He was from Detroit. He was interested in Malcolm X and had read his biography three times. He knew about politics. John just listened as Michael's scattered story drew him in. Finally, it was 10 p.m. and John had promised to meet some friends. Actually John was a bit sorry he had to rush on. The company of this stranger eating a hamburger had been more pleasant than he had anticipated.
The next day John went to church. As he sat there reflecting, the pastor asked the congregation, "Think about where you have met God this week." It seemed an odd question, but as he reflected it came to him: Jesus had come to him in Michael. In the sharing of a hamburger and a conversation, Christ had come to him on the streets!
