We chose a mongrel, but...
Illustration
We chose a mongrel, but our neighbor chose a purebred. We had the "poor" dog (she certainly cost us little); the neighbor had the "rich" dog. The "rich" dog carried herself in a vain sort of way, sporting her well-groomed image. Our "poor" dog did none of this, but nonetheless, she gave us real value. She was loving, kind, appreciative, and healthy. Our neighbor's dog was quite the opposite. We knew undoubtedly which dog was of greatest worth. To this day, we recommend mongrels.
