We who are justified by faith have peace with God. That condition frees us, even occasionally allows us to make fools of ourselves. Abraham Lincoln felt that freedom. As a young man he was captain of a militia company during the Black Hawk War of 1832. He was not well-versed in military procedures. At one point, he wanted his soldiers to break ranks and file through a narrow gate in a fence. He forgot what the appropriate command might be, so he said, "The company is dismissed for two minutes, and will fall in again on the other side of the gate."
