The Western Pennsylvania church is...

The Western Pennsylvania church is a 200-member congregation in Washington, D.C. And that church was in the process of relocating to a larger site about four blocks from where it currently was. But many of the people in that neighborhood four blocks away were not thrilled at the prospect of having Western Presbyterian as a new neighbor. You see, Western Church runs a program each day that feeds 200 to 300 homeless people. And many of the people in that neighborhood just did not want that sort of activity going on so close to them. As a result, many of the neighborhood residents banded together and tried legal action to stop the church from moving. The residents paid people to picket in front of the church. And people even went up to children entering Western Presbyterian telling them that they would go to hell if they kept going to that church. Being the church and serving those in need are not always easy tasks. That is why the early church prayed for boldness, so that they could faithfully serve as Christ wanted them to. -- Bowen
