What is your calling? Are you a homemaker? A teacher? A doctor? Do you work as a
computer programmer? A mechanic? A salesperson?
We all have our calling, our vocation, the way we earn our living and, at the same time, serve those around us.
We also each have a higher calling -- to be a child of God. This is our first call: to realize that the Lord God of all creation knows us, and wants to have a relationship with us.
You and I are not orphans. We are not mistakes. We are not nobodies. Each of us is a child of the living God and that God would like to get in touch with us -- and keep in touch with us.
Do you remember the movie E.T. and the words "E.T., phone home"? Those are words for us. "Tom, phone home." "Emily, phone home." "Becky, phone home."
Whoever you are, phone home.
