William Barclay, noted Scottish pastor and theologian who has written commentary on the entire New Testament, tells about a visit to a friend's house in another country. It was late in the afternoon when the father of the house came home from work and his child ran to him crying in their native language, "Daddy, Daddy." The father swept his child up in his arms and they hugged, oh so tight. Observing this experience helped him understand the intimacy of the Aramaic familial expression "Abba," with which we can address God as his children.
