A woman who greatly feared...

A woman who greatly feared the water was so afraid that she would not accompany her husband on his boat. One day she entered a Bible study group. Together they participated in the story of Jesus calming the storm. They imagined that they were the disciples afraid in the boat. The woman easily identified with them and in her imagination, she saw herself seated in the boat in a terrible storm. She began to panic until Jesus arose in the boat, saying, "Peace, woman, be still." The wind and the waves stopped. Jesus looked at the woman and smiled. "If you follow me and want to receive the gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the power and courage of God, you must take the risk of stepping into the water and getting a little wet."
With these words the woman suddenly felt a sense of calmness and trust. When she returned home she asked her husband, "When are we going out on the boat next?"
