A Yale psychology professor published a study titled "The Psychological, Interpersonal and Social Effects of Bad Hair." In that paper, which was paid for by shampoo giant Proctor & Gamble, it says, "Bad hair negatively influences self-esteem, brings out social insecurities and causes people to concentrate on the negative aspects of themselves."
Often in our culture, we associate "image" with how one's hair looks (recall, for example, the comments about the "big hair" of Paula Jones). But in this passage, where Jesus is described as the image of God, we are to see something far more significant than mere outward appearance -- the full, creative power of God Almighty.
