You shall love the Lord...

"You shall love the Lord your God ... and your neighbor as yourself." I cannot see my Lord's outstretched arms on the cross allowing us to hate.
The cost of discipleship isn't to hate. Matthew, for me, states the same parable with the words, "He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me."
Exclusion doesn't fit the loving and accepting arms of Jesus. His cross came to be planted into our earth for purposes of peace and reconciliation. Can't you see our Lord on his cross saying, "I'm dying for those who hate their father and mother and sister and brother?"
Whatever argument the editor of this comment felt when he added it, we should severely refute the concept of our hating anyone. That we should love God as a first priority is reasonable and spiritual.
