A young woman had just completed the long, arduous journey of becoming a surgeon. Medical school, residencies, certification processes, long hours at the hospital and away from home, husband, and son. A person commented on how difficult the process must have been. The surgeon replied, "At times it was. There were days I wanted to quit. But most of the time it was easy because I was learning to be what I always wanted to be. I always wanted to be a doctor. I practiced medicine on my dolls when I was young. It was joyful working to fulfill my childhood dream of being a surgeon." When we are doing what we want and need to do, the yoke is easy and the burden is light.
