At Christmas time, the newspapers are filled with articles by psychiatrists addressing the problem of the depression that Christmas causes. Doctors and counselors are interviewed on television shows about depression at Christmas. One such expert offered the following advice:
1. Try not to expect too much.
2. Find someone else who is lonely and depressed with whom you may share Christmas.
3. Don 't overspend, give cheaper presents and less expensive parties.
4. Drink less.
5. Anticipate the depression that accompanies Christmas.
