Call To Worship
Leader: I will extol you my God and King;
People: and bless your name for ever and ever!
Leader: Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
People: and God's greatness is unsearchable!
Invocation
Lord, we come to praise you as our God and King. In this time of worship open our hearts and minds to the ways in which you present yourself to us as those who need to be ministered to. May our praise not be with our lips alone, but in the response we give to those who need our love and care. Amen.
Confession
The outstretched hand, the cry for help, the lonely look of desperation, and we are tempted to turn aside and look the other way. You, O Lord, are our King and Savior, and you have taught us that when we minister to the needs of those around us we are in truth ministering unto you. Sharpen our keenness of vision, that we might see you in these strangers that cross our paths, and responding to their needs we may know that we have indeed seen the Lord. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Gracious God, we present these gifts that they may be used by you through your Church to feed the hungry, visit those in prison, clothe the naked, and make your love and concern known to all those in need. Amen.
