That All May See

Teachers: This morning's lesson is about Jesus giving sight to
a man blind from birth. Tell your students the story. Try to find
examples of Braille lettering. It would be interesting to share
this method of reading with students.
Tell your students that they are going to experience what it is like to be blind. Bring a number of objects with you. For example, a small book, a doll, a necklace or stone, a fruit and some Playdoh. Don't show these to your students. Ask the students to close their eyes tightly, or place a cloth blindfold over their eyes. If neither works, place your objects, one at a time, in a bag. Then, either pass the bag around, or with students' eyes shut, pass one object around. Let them try to guess what each is. Don't reveal the object, however. When all objects are passed around reveal them one at a time.
Parents: Talk with your child about what is means to be blind. Offer to play the game played during Sunday school. Allow your child to present objects to you to guess.
