Children's Activity
Object:
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME
AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT HOME
Materials:
Tissue paper
Pipe cleaners
Scissors
Directions:
1. Cut tissue paper into rectangles approximately the size of copy paper.
2. Have each child choose 5-10 rectangles of tissue paper.
3. Have each child stack the tissue paper neatly, then accordion fold the stack long ways. Folds should be about 1-2 inches apart.
4. Have each child select a pipe cleaner. Securely wrap the end of the pipe cleaner around the middle of the accordion-folded tissue paper.
5. One by one, pull the pieces of tissue paper out of their folds and toward the center, fluffing out the "petals."
6. Instruct the children to give their flower to their mother or someone who cares for them, and remind them to thank that person for being a part of his or her life!
