Before accepting my last call...

Before accepting my last call, I had been an active member in a large community choir. I served in a variety of capacities including administrator and section leader. As administrator it was my responsibility to make sure that the weekly business of the chorus was carried out efficiently and capably. As section leader it was my job to teach new music to those in my section, to provide a solid, dependable sound on which they could build and to correct any notes that were wrong.
Since returning to the area, I have once again decided to join the choir. Since I haven't done any serious singing for five years, my breath support is shallow, and my singing technique needs to be honed. I am very aware of the time I will need before I can once again sing with any degree of confidence.
With that in mind, you may be able to imagine my surprise and pleasure as the director pointed to a pivotal place on the risers and said, "I've chosen this place for Beth after she passes her audition."
