The adult Sunday school class...

The adult Sunday school class was discussing the book of Job. After studying the book for weeks, the class arrived at the last chapter of Job. As they read of how God restored to Job twice as much as he had before, a question arose -- "Why did God do this? Was it because of Job's behavior in praying for his friends? Was it because of Job's faith?" At this point, one woman spoke up and shared with the class the story of her life. During her first year of marriage her husband was killed in a car accident. At the time she was eight months pregnant and the shock of her husband's death caused her to go into labor. It was a difficult birth, but, she was blessed with a healthy baby girl. The next few years were difficult ones. Her husband had no life insurance (she was only 19 when she was married; her husband was 21). She had to get a job plus raise a young girl all alone. When her daughter was six she met at a grade school function a young man who had never been married. He was there to see his nephew. Two years later they were married. They have two children. Today, they are enjoying their grandchildren. There were a few years when she thought that she would never laugh again. There were times when she wondered why God had taken her husband and left her with a daughter to raise. Somehow God had given her the strength to see her through the difficult times. Now her life was pretty good. What lesson had she gained through all of this? To trust God at all times, knowing that God will be with you during the good times as well as the bad. -- Frank
