Ancient mirrors were...

Ancient mirrors were made by pouring molten metal, usually bronze or brass, into a shape pressed into wet sand. Once cooled, the metal was removed from the sand, then cleaned and smoothed and polished. The result was something that would show you what you looked like -- almost. The image was cloudy in spots, maybe a little wavy and distorted, and the face you saw was always an unnatural yellowy-brown.
Modern mirrors are smooth and perfectly clear, but even they get it completely backward, showing the right side on the left, and the left side on the right. Mirrors never get it completely right, but it's not just the mirror's fault. We never see ourselves for who we truly are. Only God sees the real you.
