April 17, 1961, was the day of failure of the Bay of Pigs as the invasion of Cuba by U.S trained Cubans failed.
Jesus talked of his kingdom not belonging to this world. On April 17, 1492, Spain's King Ferdinand agreed to finance Columbus' voyage, resulting in the discovery by Europeans and others of the New World.
The February 4, 1991, issue of "Forbes" has a drawing of a man who is the king of the mountain. He stands alone on a huge rock while below him are people trying to reach where he is. The man is Colman Mockler, the CEO of Gilette who came out with a successful new razor, the Sensor. I hope that Mockler was a good man and not solely geared to this world. While the issue showed him smiling with a much magnified Sensor in his hand standing triumphantly alone, the following issue carried the news that he had died.
Jesus speaks in John 18:36 of his kingdom not belonging to this world. None of us belongs here long so we should be belonging to Christ's eternal kingdom.
