George enrolled in a trade college and took the classes he needed in order to start up his
own business. He did not finish the degree, as he had a family to feed and bills to pay.
From George's perspective, the real test of education and school is applying the skills in
the working world. Can one make a living on what they know and raise a family?
According to Walter Brueggemann's volume, Theology of the Old Testament: Testimony, Dispute, and Advocacy (Minneapolis: Augsburg Fortress, 1997, pp. 466-467; pp. 685-694), George might be doing "practical theology on the run." The wisdom talked about in Proverbs sees God embedded in the patterns of life and in nature. While God is in natural cycles in life, he is not equal to nature (pantheism). The wisdom school here is merely a check and balance to the priests, torah, and prophetic schools.
Regardless of the level of education, Proverbs 1 invites all people to experience God in this manner of practical wisdom in life's daily lessons.
