God bless ecumenical activity! Most Christians (and those of other faiths) will tell you it is tough work. Whether it be in a soup kitchen, a clothing distribution center, an agency working for social justice, or a committee planning an ecumenical worship, you know you will get limited cooperation from many. The priorities of most church members go this way: (1) their local church, (2) their denomination, and (if there is any time or energy left), (3) ecumenical activities. Some don't trust people from "different" churches. Some think such cooperation dilutes their religion. Some don't want to do more than they have to for religion. But, continue with assurance. Our Lord Jesus Christ is your advocate. He prayed for ecumenical work, "... that they may all be one."
