God isn't impressed with the proud. Prince Philip wasn't too proud, on occasion, to get down on hands and knees. It happened on a ferry crossing, from Vancouver to Victoria Island in British Columbia. The waters were turbulent. During the crossing, a waiter brought a tray of small cakes, but a sudden lurch of the vessel sent them spilling onto the deck. As the other guests watched in astonishment, and some amusement, the Prince of Wales crawled around the deck, retrieving the half of the cakes he could get his hands on. (He was heard to say, jokingly, to the queen, "I've got mine -- yours are down there.")
