Jesus tells about an unjust property manager who has major responsibilities. When his
boss finds out what is going on he plans to fire him. In order to find favor for himself,
just before he is fired he tells those who owe large sums to dramatically reduce the
amounts owed. The manager then signed the reduced documents.
Quite a contrast to the attitude of a man of wealth, who was fed up with life. He decided to end it all by jumping into the Seine River. As he walked to the place where he planned to jump, he became aware of a heavy purse in his pocket. He reasoned, "I will at least make someone happy by giving them the purse." He stopped at a home filled with poor children in rags, and gave them the gold. Tears of joy quickly replaced their tears of sorrow.
The donor responded, "I did not know that there was so much happiness in doing good. Suicide is not the answer, I will devote my life and wealth to doing good, and bringing happiness to others." With that purpose and his wealth he became distinguished for his deeds of benevolence.
