On June 2, 1953, Queen Elizabeth II was crowned queen of England. A great ceremony accompanied this historic event. After the queen had processed into the Abbey Church of St. Peter, Westminster, she was presented to the people by the Archbishop of Canterbury with the words, "Sirs, I here present unto you Queen ELIZABETH, your undoubted Queen: Wherefore all you who are come this day to do your homage and service, are you willing to do the same?" The people whereupon cried in loud voices, "God save Queen Elizabeth!"
The service continued with lessons, the celebration of Holy Communion, and the anointing and crowning of the queen. As the crown was put upon her head, the congregation with loud voices, repeatedly shouted, "God save the queen!"
Great as the celebration was on June 2, 1953, it will pale in comparison to the Lamb taking the throne.
