Little did actor Stephen Baldwin know that his life was about to change when he and his
wife hired a housekeeper from Brazil. The housekeeper would sing praise songs as she
went about her daily chores. Praise songs were a part of her life; she wasn't trying to
impose them on anyone else and certainly did not want to offend anyone. Stephen's wife
first noticed, which led to a conversation about faith. The housekeeper told of a church
service she attended before leaving Brazil. She was told that if she was obedient to the
Lord, the family she worked for in America would come to faith in Christ.
It wasn't too long after that conversation that Stephen's wife became a believer and began talking to her husband. Stephen explains his experience as if God were speaking directly to him saying, "I'm real and I want you to serve me. I want to show you how believing in me is radical fun." Stephen surrendered his life to Christ. In describing that experience, the actor says it "was greater than all the movies and money I've made."
We never know the impact we may have on other people or how they might touch our lives.
