M, C)Mary's...

(M, C)
Mary's outside the tomb, abandoned by the disciples, lost in grief, blinded by tears.
The gardener appears Just the gardener Mary, full of questions, moves to meet him "Where have they taken Jesus' body? What have they done with my Lord? Oh, you wouldn't know, you're just the gardener."
Just the gardener? No, not just the gardener. In fact, not the gardener at all. That's Jesus, loving Mary, listening to Mary, talking to her.
How many times God speaks to us and we don't know who it is. His revelation is often couched in the commonplace, given through the familiar.
Recently, my friend Harvey saw I was hurting. He took me to lunch and asked if I wanted to talk. I did. Harvey listened a lot, spoke a little and let me know of his love and availability. Just Harvey? No, not just Harvey but the very presence of God come to heal my hurt.
But, oh, how we flee from God revealed in the ordinary. We feel a special divine nudge and we say our emotions are just running away from us. God brings two seemingly impossible strands of our life together and we say its just a coincidence.
Just the gardener? No, not the gardener at all but the living Christ, risen to be with us.
