Many young children have treasure boxes filled with little bits of string, pretty stones, birds' nests and the like. I've been privileged to see the contents of many such treasure boxes. In one there was a piece of wood shaped like a circle -- "My Grandpa was helping me to build a wheel but then he got sick and died and it was sad. I still miss him and I love him." In another was a stone with a fossil in it. "Me and my family, well, we went to a cottage and it was on a lake. We climbed down to the sand and we found this. I wonder how it got there?" In still another was a newspaper article about the new doctor in town. "When I grow up I'm going to be a doctor. I'll help people so they don't hurt." Each of those boxes had one thing in common -- they contained treasures which sparked memories, nurtured feelings, inspired thoughts and created dreams. Scripture tells us that Mary stored her treasures in her heart. -- Conroy
