Once upon a time, in...

Once upon a time, in a far away land, a long time ago, lived a king and queen. The king was incredibly handsome with a full black beard. His wife was blond and rather tall for people who lived at that time. They were very happy together and, like so many couples in love, they decided to have a child. Sure enough, a while later, a handsome baby boy was born. They called him "Gagu" which meant "laughter" in their language. He brought joy to their home.
The lad grew up to be a fine young prince. He always did everything right. His parents were very proud. Then one day a band of wandering minstrels passed that way hoping to earn some gold coins from the king. Seeing the lad of three years, they realized his value to them if they sold him into slavery. They took him and sold him to a very mean farmer who lived on the other side of the country far away.
Years passed and the boy grew up thinking he was the farmer's son. He hated his life; he hated who he thought he was. So he ran away. Down mountains, over streams, and finally, he reached the very castle of the king and queen. "Here I will be safe," he thought. He went in to apply for work as a castle servant. However, the queen recognized a birthmark on his arm. She was joyous. Gagu was back! The celebration was wonderful and everyone danced. What had been lost had been found and the family was together again. Gagu saw things differently after that.
