One of the most...

One of the most common responses I get, in relationship to God talking to us today, is, "I didn't hear a booming voice or seen a burning bush. I guess God just doesn't talk to me like he did to Moses." After an inquiry as to where they got this isolated idea, I discovered "The Ten Commandments" has been more of an influence in many people's lives than the Bible itself.
Although Moses needed to be hit on the head with God's presence and it was rather miraculous, isn't it more interesting to find out how God heard his people? "I have see ... have heard the cry ..." These words and this avenue is open to us as well. Moses was in the field, keeping watch over his flocks. He was not near nor in a listening range of the people of Israel and their sufferings. God became the communicator of the suffering of his people. Then Moses heard.
How many times have members of our congregations said, "I haven't seen anyone in need. I haven't heard any cries."
Could it be you and I are 1986 versions of the burning bush?
