Over in Ireland during the Christmas season of 1997, a politician suggested that there should be a law against second-
rate Santa Clauses. The politician, Michael Moynihan, said that he had seen too many Santa Clauses in stores wearing tacky beards and scruffy red suits who couldn't even offer a decent, "Ho, ho, ho." And so Moynihan said that all of those bad Santas were taking away from what Christmas really means. We would do well to examine our own celebrations of Christmas to see how well they reflect the true meaning of the holiday.
