The Sistine Chapel is at once beautiful, magnificent, and has a value that can't be
calculated. Its construction took place between 1475 and 1483, and its chapel has the
exact measurement as Solomon's Temple: 41 meters long by 13.5 meters wide. Its height
reaches almost 21 meters.
What is most impressive is the artwork. Painters of the walls included Pietro Perugino, Sandro Botticelli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Cosimo Rosselli, and Luca Signorelli. The famous ceiling was painted by Michelangelo between 1508 and 1512. Michelangelo also painted a scene from the last judgment over the altar.
It must have appeared to the people of that time, as it does for us today, that the Lord shook the nations and the wealth flowed from them to Rome and the Sistine Chapel.
Perhaps the Sistine Chapel is but a foretaste of what the prophet Haggai talked about in the sixth century BCE.
