Stone Mountain, in Georgia, is the largest stone mountain in North America, measuring two-miles long, one-mile wide and 800-feet high. The mountain rounds off so imperceptibly that there is no true edge, and one can easily walk off the top without realizing it. Because this has happened in the past, there are now small fences and signs which warn of the danger. Sin can be likened to this mountain in the sense that one can so very easily become involved in the selfish desires of the flesh that sin imperceptibly becomes ingrained in the heart, mind and soul. So it was with David who had to be confronted by the prophet Nathan who warned the king of his moral decline.
