There were some great wives in the Bible. Eve put up with the pride of her husband who thought he was number one simply because he was number one. Consider Mrs. Noah, who had to accept far too many hours alone in the house while her husband tinkered in the yard on some boat he was intent on building. Zipporah, wife of Moses, had to tolerate her man running off to Egypt on some far-fetched notion that he could lead a slave exodus from Egypt. This is not unlike what many military wives have to deal with. Esther accepts the role of a fill-in wife for the king after he banishes his former queen; but, then, Esther finds purpose in her new relationship and uses it for good to save a people and also her husband's reputation, which would have gone down in history with the likes of Hitler if it were not for her.
