A tramp was standing in front of a Christian bookstore window. A little girl happened by and stopped to look in. Her eyes fixed on Jesus on the Cross, a carved wooden crucifix which was the centerpiece of the window display.
"Jesus died for us. Isn't that wonderful?" she said to the tramp. "I don't care about the Cross and all this religious talk," the tramp said, walking away.
The little girl was puzzled until it finally dawned on her that she hadn't told the tramp the whole story. She ran after him with the good news: "He didn't stay that way, mister. He didn't stay on the Cross. He came back again to give us life and forgiveness. He is the Lord of Life."
