When President Reagan celebrated his election victory late in 1984, 3,000 supporters crowded into the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The victory celebration was a continuation of the confident campaign which he conducted from one end of the country to the other. To a cheering multitude he said, "Tonight is the end of nothing.
