Damned If We Do, Damned If We Don't!

Ancient rabbis spoke of the "two impulses" in every human being, one self-oriented and the other more outgoing. Freud spoke of the id and the superego. And all healthy persons have struggled between what we know we should do and what we would like to do. Our lead writer, George Reed, relates Paul's language of such inner conflict to a variety of odd behavior in our news headlines, referring also to recent research on brain functions. And what does this all have to do with our understanding of sin and evil?
