Call To Worship
Leader: Let us praise the Lord, our God!
People: He has come to the help of his people and has set us free.
Leader: He has provided for us a mighty Savior,
People: a descendant of his servant David.
Leader: Our hope is in the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Come, let us worship him!
Collect
O Lord, we acknowledge you as king of our lives, and praise you for ruling over us like a tender shepherd. Your judgments are just and righteous, and your mercy is beyond our comprehension. We would be your faithful servants, working for the coming of your kingdom. Bless our endeavors, we pray, and hasten the day when every knee shall bow before you and every tongue confess that you are our King and Savior. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, we get so wrapped up with the needs and concerns of our own families, our particular church, our workplaces that we forget you sent your Son so the world might be saved and his kingdom know no bounds. Forgive our narrow-mindedness, we pray, and send us forth empowered by your Holy Spirit to minister to all people everywhere in your creation. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
O Lord, Jesus Christ, you gave your life for us, and in gratitude we can do no less than serve you with our lives and all that we have. Accept these gifts as symbols of our total commitment to you and your kingdom. Amen.

People: He will guide our steps into the path of peace.
Leader: Come, let us worship the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Collect
In this time of worship, we praise you, O God, and acknowledge you as Lord of our lives. Your Son brought light into a dark world so that we no longer need to stumble in the darkness. Christ brought hope to a world in despair and showed us the path that leads to eternal life. Jesus also introduced us to the Peaceable Kingdom and taught us how we ought to live in your kingdom. Thanks be to you, Almighty God! Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Merciful God, forgive us for things we have done that we ought not to have done, and things that we have left undone that we ought to have done. Through the sacrifice of your Son, Jesus Christ, you have promised us forgiveness. Enable us to accept the freedom from sin which that forgiveness brings, and help us to live as children of the Light which we have seen in Jesus, our Savior. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Lord God, along with these monetary gifts, we offer ourselves in service to you and your Church. May we and our gifts be used to help bring your kingdom that your children everywhere may come to know and love you as we do. Amen.
Hymns
"At The Name Of Jesus"
"Hail, Thou Once Despised Jesus"

Christ The King (Proper 29/Ordinary Time 34)

Gospel Lesson: Luke 23:33-43
Theme: Jesus Is Crucified
Call To Worship
Leader: Arise and shine like the sun; the glory of the Lord is shining on you!
People: Other nations will be covered by darkness, but on you the light of the Lord will shine.
Leader: The brightness of his presence will be with you.
People: Nations will be drawn to your light.
Leader: Come, let us worship our Lord and King.
Collect
O Lord, our King, they crowned you with thorns and mocked you, yet you asked God to forgive them. To the dying thief who recognized you as King, you promised he would be with you in Paradise. Teach us by your Spirit how to forgive those who spitefully use us, and prepare us, that we, too, might be with you in Paradise through all eternity. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, we are so accustomed to those who rule by power and the sword that we often find it difficult to comprehend that your Son came into the world to rule as a Suffering Servant. Fill our hearts with your Holy Spirit that we may better understand how our Savior and King will rule the world, even as we follow in faith as his loyal disciples, striving to follow his teachings and live in his Spirit. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Almighty God, in Christ you sought to reconcile all people to yourself and one another, and by Christ you worked to establish peace on earth. Accept these gifts and use them and us as instruments and agents of your peace and reconciliation. Amen.
Hymns
"Crown Him With Many Crowns"
"Hail To The Lord's Anointed"
"Majesty, Worship His Majesty"
