Leader: A Child is born to us!
People: A Son is given to us!

People: He will be called "Wonderful Counselor," "Mighty God," "Eternal Father," "Prince of Peace."
Collect
Almighty and Everlasting God, we praise you for the coming of the Christ Child to rule the earth with justice and righteousness. We pray that he may be born anew in our hearts this day so that we may be used by you in some way to help still the warring madness of the nations and the strife and turmoil within our own land. We pray in the name of the blessed Prince of Peace, even Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, forgive us for continuing to walk in darkness when we know the Light of the World has come into our lives. Even as we praise you and give thanks for the coming of that Light in Jesus Christ, by your Holy Spirit enable us truly to follow our Master and our Friend, in whose name we pray. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Lord, we have given and received gifts this Christmas season, but in this hour we give you thanks for the greatest gift of all, your Son, Jesus Christ. We bring you our gifts of gratitude and with them we commit our very lives to you. Amen.

Call To Worship
Leader: Sing a new song to the Lord!
People: Sing to the Lord, and praise him!
Leader: Proclaim every day the Good News that he has saved us.
People: Proclaim his glory to the nations, his mighty deeds to all peoples.
Collect
We lift our voices in praise to you, Almighty God, for you have sent your Son into the world for our salvation. We rejoice in the knowledge that the Lord is king, and that he will rule the peoples of the world with justice and fairness. Thanks be to you, O God! Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord Jesus, we celebrate your birth; we rejoice in your coming; we recognize you as our sovereign, but we confess that we have not always been willing to accept the fact that all people on earth are your children. Open our hearts and minds to the truth that we are one people, and help us not only to accept our brothers and sisters of every nation, but also to do all in our power to share your love with them. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Lord of the universe, made known to us in the Christ Child, accept these gifts and use them to go where we cannot go with the message of your redeeming love. Amen.

Call To Worship
Leader: This very day in David's town, called Bethlehem, our Savior was born -- Christ the Lord.
People: Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to those with whom he is pleased.
Collect
In a world of turmoil and conflict, we gather, Lord, to celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace. Let your Spirit move among us, we pray, that the peace we yearn for may begin with each one of us, and then empower us to let our lights shine to enlighten this dark world. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
God of the universe, made known to us in Jesus Christ, when things seem hopeless, and the world appears destined to live in darkness, forgive us for thinking we are on our own in seeking solutions. Through your Spirit, remind us that Christ came to show us you are very much alive in the world, and with that assurance help us to seek your will more diligently as we struggle with the problems of our day. Amen.

O God, you have made known to us this great thing that happened when Jesus came into the world. Like the shepherds of old, we sing your praises for all that you have revealed to us, and we offer these gifts that they may be used to spread the Good News throughout the world. Amen.
